Course 4

Under the ICMR/AU - STRC Health Practitioners/Researchers Capacity Building Scheme, a Call for Applications was announced (in June, 2019) for training of African researchers through seven courses to be conducted by the ICMR Institutes in India in the year 2019.

The fourth course on ‘Biostatistics for Health Research’ has been organized at ICMR- National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai during 4-8 November, 2019 and attended by 21 African researchers from Tunisia, Burkino Faso, Liberia, Niger Republic , Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mali, Cameroon, Benin.

This five-day course provides a comprehensive overview of basic biostatistical concepts with focus on practical aspects. The course is a combination of lectures on various statistical tools for data analysis and hands-on training in using software for data analysis (SPSS) facilitated by experienced faculty from ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai.
